The International Commission for the Protection of the Danube River (ICPDR) is developing the Danube River Basin Management Plan Update 2015 for the period between 2015 and 2021; and the first Flood Risk Management Plan for the Danube River Basin covering the same period. These plans aim to further protect and enhance the status of all waters and to ensure the sustainable, long-term use of water resources as well as the sustainable management of flood risks.
For the development of the management plans, representatives of civil society and stakeholders are called to contribute their views. The intense phase of public consultation of the plans has started, the consultation documents are available at: http://icpdr.org/main/danube-management-plans-have-say.
Two online questionnaires are available on the two management plans: one DRBMP Update 2015 Questionnaire and one FRMP for the DRB Questionnaire. These questionnaires allow interested individuals with limited prior knowledge to contribute to public participation within a few minutes.
As of early June 2015, there are also still places available for the "Voice of the Danube" stakeholder consultation workshop. Interested organisations are encouraged to register for the workshop, which will be held in Zagreb on 2/3 July.
